After poor shooting got the Kougars of Kishwaukee College in an early hole against Carl Sandburg College, they were able to battle back and take their first lead of the game at 56-55, with 3:28 left in regulation. Despite still leading 59-58 with 55 seconds remaining, the Kougars could not hold on to the lead and went into overtime with the Chargers, tied at 62.
The Kougars jumped to a 4 point lead at 72-68 with just 2 minutes remaining in overtime, but the Chargers came back to lead 73-72 with 23 seconds left in the game. Kishwaukee got a shot from Bryson Butler and a put-back attempt from Malcolm Reed, but both were off of the mark, providing for the final score of 73-72, in favor of Carl Sandburg College.
Malcolm Reed (Marquette Catholic High School) led the Kougars with a double/double of 16 points and 10 rebounds. Austin Patterson (Morris High School) was the only other Kougar in double figures with 12 points.
