Illinois Valley College shot a blistering 64% from the floor in the second half and out-scored the Kougar men of Kishwaukee College 32-18 from the free-throw line, to come away with a 97-86 victory.
The Kougars and Eagles were tied at 36 going into the locker room at the half, but the Kougars gave up a season high 61 points in the second half and couldn't keep pace, scoring 50 of their own. The Kougars out-rebounded the Eagles 52-37, but 28 fouls and multiple trips to the free-throw line for the Eagles kept Kishwaukee from taking control.
The Kougars were led in scoring by Ryan Reeder (Mendota High School) with a season high 23 points, on 9-14 shooting. JoVonte Peals (Marquette Catholic High School) had 17 points and 8 rebounds, including a 9-10 performance from the free-throw line. Also in double figures for the Kougars were Armon Williams (Oak Forrest High School) with 15 points and Austin Patterson (Morris High School) with 13 points.
