In a road contest that Kishwaukee trailed Highland College by 6-8 points for most of the game, the Kougars were down by just 2 points and missed an opportunity to tie the ball game with: 28 seconds left in the game, ultimatley losing 95-88.
The game was tightly contested for the entire duration with both teams shooting well and taking care of the ball. Highland College out-shot the Kougars in the first half and found themselves with an 11 point lead at 48-37. The Kougars would claw back and close to the gap to a two point deficit at 90-88 on a Malcom Reed jumper with 1:31 remaining. Following a Highland turnover, Kishwaukee's Jajuan Cosby missed a jumper and Armon Williams corralled an offensive rebound, but was also unable to tie the game, missing his attempt. Highland would go on to sink 5 of 6 free-throws in the waning seconds to provide the final margin of victory.
The Kougars were led in scoring by Malcolm Reed with 19 points. Reed also tied for the team lead in rebounding with 7 boards. Ryan Reeder and JoVonte Peals finished with 13 points each and Armon Williams rounded out the double figure scoring for the Kougars with 11.
