Game 1
Kishwaukee College jumped out to an early lead on Prairie State College and captured a 15-4 victory on Saturday at Chicago Heights, IL.
Ten runs in the first three innings allowed Kishwaukee to put the game away early.
A single by Andres Rios, a passed ball, two errors, and a two-run double by Matt Albert in the second inning fueled Kishwaukee College's offense early.
Albert got a hit in each of his two at bats.
Kishwaukee easily handled Prairie State College pitching as six hitters combined for eight hits, eight RBIs and 11 runs scored.
The Kougars pushed across three runs in both the third inning and the fifth. In the third, Kishwaukee scored on a sacrifice fly by Jared Johnson, plating Juan Casanova and Jaylon Hughes.
Kishwaukee piled on two more runs in the top of the fourth. The inning got off to a hot start when Gary Garcia homered.
Kishwaukee College added three more runs in the top of the fifth. Rios started the inning with a triple, scoring Albert and Aneudy DeLacruz. That was followed up by Hughes' single, bringing home Rios.
Game 2-
A 10-run explosion in the fourth inning lifted Kishwaukee College to an 18-7 win in six innings over Prairie State College at Chicago Heights, IL on Saturday.
Kishwaukee scored in the fourth on an RBI double by Juan Casanova, a single by David Salgueiro, a two-run single by Matt Albert, a passed ball, a two-run single by Lazaro Martinez, an error, and a passed ball.
The teams traded runs for most of the contest, leading to nine lead changes in the game.
Kishwaukee College's Jared Johnson was perfect at the dish, going 4-4. He singled in the second and fourth innings and doubled in the sixth inning.
Five relief pitchers finished off the game for Kishwaukee College. Kody Kutzke faced four batters in relief, while Chris Reyes managed to record two outs to aid the victory.
The top of the first saw Kishwaukee College take an early lead, 1-0.
It didn't take long for Prairie State College to respond as it scored two runs of its own in the first. Prairie State College scored on an RBI double by Devin Bafia and an RBI single by Steve Crawford.
Kishwaukee College tacked on another four runs in the sixth. An error scored Trevor Cielenski for the inning's first run. That was followed up by Johnson's double, scoring Casanova.
