Austin Allende collected three hits, helping Kishwaukee College to a 9-4 victory over Sauk Valley on Monday at Malta, IL.
He tripled in the third inning and singled in the second and fifth innings.Renny Tolentino baffled Sauk Valley, striking out 10 batters. Kishwaukee College's pitcher tossed four innings of shutout ball and allowed only three hits.
Four relief pitchers finished off the game for Kishwaukee College. Kody Kutzke faced four batters in relief, while Chris Reyes managed to record zero outs to aid the victory.
Kishwaukee College didn't relinquish the lead after scoring three runs in the second inning when it scored on two singles.
Kishwaukee College piled on four more runs in the bottom of the third. The inning looked promising, as Matt Albert tripled, plating Cooper Vinz to kick things off. That was followed up by Austin Allende's triple, scoring Albert.
Kishwaukee College got one-run rallies in the fifth inning and the sixth. In the fifth, Kishwaukee College scored on a groundout by Juan Casanova, plating Austin Allende.
Four runs in the top of the sixth helped Sauk Valley close its deficit to 8-4. A passed ball, a groundout by Diontrell Earls, an RBI single by Joshua Sullivan, and an RBI single by Reyes Maldonado gave Sauk Valley life. Kishwaukee College stopped the rally after Kutzke got Kieffer Znaniecki to strike out.
