The Arrowhead Conference Champion Kishwaukee Kougar baseball team was honored with five Division 1 All-Region IV selections for the 2016 season. All five of the selections also were named to the Arrowhead Conference All-Conference Teams. The following players were honored:
Matt Albert (Bettendorf High School) - Albert was the 2nd leading hitter in Region IV, hitting .416 on the season. He was also 2nd in the conference with 63 runs driven in for the Kougars. Albert led the conference with 7 triples and 15 home runs and slugged a ridiculous .855.
Cooper Vinz (Sycamore High School) - Vinz led Region IV in hitting, batting .435 and driving in a league leading 69 runs. Vinz also hit 5 home runs, 16 doubles and stole 10 bases on the season.
David Salguerio (Archbishop Coleman Carrol High School) - Salguerio hit .390 on the year with 10 doubles. He led Region IV, as well as the entire NJCAA, with 60 stolen bases in 55 games.
Jared Johnson (DeKalb High School) - Johnson hit .381 on the year with 16 doubles and 5 home runs, while driving in 43 runs for the Kougars. He also finished the year with 22 stolen bases.
Chris Rodriguez (Hialeah Gardens High School) - Rodrigues led the region with wins and sported and 8-2 record for the season, while compiling an E.R.A of 4.58. He also led the region with 97 strikeouts in 74 2/3 innings pitched.
For the year, the Kougars finished 37-18, claiming the #2 seed for the Region IV Championship, while securing their 1st Arrowhead Conference Championship since 2003.
