Kishwaukee College and Kankakee volleyed the lead five times on Saturday, but Kishwaukee College came out on top for a 3-2 win on Saturday at Malta, IL.
Austin Allende got a hit in each of his one at bats. He homered in the second inning.
Chris Rodriguez was in control on the hill. Kankakee managed just two hits off of Rodriguez, who allowed no earned runs, walked four and struck out seven during his six innings of work.
Walters took the loss for Kankakee. He lasted just six innings, walked three, struck out five, and allowed three runs.
In the bottom of the first, Kishwaukee College grabbed the early lead, 1-0. Kishwaukee College's rally started when David Salgueiro singled. A stolen base then moved Salgueiro from first to second.
Kishwaukee College quickly matched Kankakee's strong inning with a one-run inning of its own in the second. Kishwaukee College scored on a solo home run by Austin Allende.
The second game of the double header was a differnt story for the Kougars.
Despite Aneudy DeLacruz's 2-3 performance at the plate on Saturday, Kishwaukee College took a 14-2 loss at the hands of Kankakee at Malta, IL.
Daniel Tenayuca got it done on the mound on the way to a win. He allowed two runs over seven innings. He struck out eight, walked none and surrendered eight hits.
Renny Tolentino was charged with the loss. He allowed six runs in four innings, walked four and struck out five.
Kankakee got five-run rallies in the fourth inning and the seventh. In the fourth, Kankakee scored on an error, plating Littrell.
Two runs in the bottom of the sixth helped Kishwaukee College close its deficit to 9-2. A groundout by Cooper Vinz and an RBI triple by DeLacruz gave Kishwaukee College life. But, Tenayuca got Austin Allende to ground out to end the inning.
