Game 1-
Tuesday was a great day for Chris Rodriguez, as Rodriguez threw a shutout to carry Kishwaukee College to a 9-0 victory over Illinois Valley at Ogelsby, IL in seven innings.
Rodriguez handled Illinois Valley's lineup with ease, racking up 10 strikeouts. Kishwaukee College's pitcher gave up just three hits over seven shutout innings.
Five runs in the first three innings helped Kishwaukee blow out Illinois Valley. A two-run double by Andres Rios in the second inning supplied the early offense for the Kougars.
Cooper Vinz racked up three RBIs on two hits for Kishwaukee. He singled in the fourth inning and doubled in the fifth inning.
Kishwaukee College tacked on another three runs in the third. A clutch bases loaded walk scored Jared Johnson to open the scoring in the frame.
Kishwaukee pushed across two runs in both the fourth inning and the fifth. In the fourth, the Kougars scored on an RBI single by Vinz, scoring David Salgueiro.
Game 2-
Cooper Vinz went 4-4 at the plate, but Kishwaukee College fell 12-4 to Illinois Valley at Ogelsby, IL on Tuesday.
Illinois Valley was sparked by AJ Gaeta and Trenton Kielion, who teamed up for four hits and six RBIs.
Kishwaukee College jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the top of the first. After David Salgueiro singled, Kishwaukee kept the pressure on Illinois Valley pitching, as Vinz singled.
It didn't take long for Illinois Valley to respond as it scored two runs of its own in the first. Illinois Valley scored on a two-run triple by Kielion.
The lead stayed with Illinois Valley after the third, when it scored 10 runs on a two-run double by Gaeta, a passed ball, and three singles.
After pushing across one run in the top of the sixth, Kishwaukee College faced just a 12-4 deficit. An RBI single by Vinz gave Kishwaukee life. The Kougar threat came to an end when Ross Weber finally got Matt Albert to strike out.
