Kishwaukee goes streaking into the holiday with a 67-59 road win at McHenry.

The Kougars went on the road and pulled out a 67-59 win to extend its winning streak to 3 games.  Kishwaukee(5-2) began the game with good defensive pressure holding the Scots without a basket for the first 4 ½ minutes while building a 10 point lead.  The Kougars battled through McHenry's zone defense for high percentage shots for most of the 1st half to take a 31-22 advantage to the locker room.  Both sophomore forward Malcolm Reed(Marquette HS) 11 points(5 of 7 FG's) and sophomore point guard Bryson Butler(Lincoln Park HS) 12 points (4 of 6 FG's) would lead the way during the first half charge.  The Kougars defense would hold the Scots to just 33% shooting from the floor, 11% shooting from behind the 3pt arc, and 25% from the FT line during the 1st half.  The Scots would make a charge in the 2nd half and cut into Kishwaukee's lead.  McHenry was aggressive on the glass getting 2nd chance points to help tie the game at 54-54 with just over 6 minutes remaining in the game.  Kishwaukee would need a full team effort to help hold off the Scots and not let them take a lead by holding strong on the defensive end and converting 70% (21-30) of their FT's to seal the road win.  Kishwaukee received contributions from eight players who played over double-figure minutes on the night.  Reed led the scoring charge before fouling out with 23 points, 6 rebounds, and 2 assists.  Butler would be just short of a triple-double with 20 points, 11 rebounds, 8 assists, and 5 steals.  Freshman guard Deshaun Jackson(Peoria HS) would hit big FT's down the stretch and finish with 9 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists.  Sophomore guard Koko Songolo(Memorial HS) played great defense for Kishwaukee while also contributing 7 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists, and 3 steals.  The Kougars hope to extend their winning streak this Saturday after Thanksgiving when the Panthers of Olive-Harvey come to Malta for a 3pm home game.
