Kougars win Home Opener over Region IV A Opponent Wright College 96-78

Kishwaukee(2-0) won their home opener by the score of 96-78 over Wilbur Wright College. The Kougar's began the game sloppy as they had done in the season opener last Tuesday at Harper College.  Lucky for the Kougars they were able to right the ship and force 15 first half turnovers and scored 14 points off of those turnovers to lead Wright 43-34 going into the half.  Kishwaukee came out more focused in the 2nd half and was able to maintain a double-digit lead through most of the 2nd half keeping an aggressive Rams team from putting together a comeback.  Kishwaukee continued to mix full and half-court defenses to slow down Wright.  The Kougar defense forced 28 turnovers on the afternoon which lead to 25 points.  Starting sophomore point guard Bryson Butler(Chicago Lincoln Park HS) finished as high scorer with 30points & 6 assists followed by three other players in double–figures in sophomore forward JoVonte Peals(Marquette HS) with 15points and 11 rebounds, sophomore forward Malcolm Reed(Marquette HS) with 14points and 2 blocks, and freshman guard Deshaun Jackson(Peoria HS) with 13points and 4 rebounds.  The final score of 96-78 would actually be the largest lead of the game for Kishwaukee.  The Kougars head back on the road Tuesday November 8th at Moraine Valley College. The Cyclones handed the Kougars their first loss of the year last season.  Tuesday's game begins at 7:30pm on Moraine Valley's campus in Palos Hills, IL.
