The Kougars of Kishwaukee College survived 15 lead changes and still had opportunities to win the game down the stretch, but an inability to come up with a timely stop put them on the losing end of a 94-88 contest against Black Hawk East College. The Kougars out-rebounded Black Hawk East by a 47-37 margin, but shot just 61% from the free-throw line, getting out-scored at the charity stripe by 6 points.
The Warriors and Kougars played back and forth basketball for the entire first half of the game, heading into the locker room tied at 44. The second half would see the Warriors take their largest lead of the game at 79-69, only to have the Kougars battle back.
Malcolm Reed (Marquette Catholic High School) led the Kougars with 20 points and 11 rebounds. Austin Patterson (Morris High School) followed in scoring for the Kougars with 18 points, including 4-6 from the 3-pt line.
