Kish Softball sweeps Sandburg in key Arrowhead Conference DH

April 11, 2024 – The Kishwaukee College Softball team hosted Carl Sandburg College on Thursday in a key mid-season Arrowhead Conference doubleheader.  The Kougars would wind up sweeping the Chargers 8-2 and 9-1 in a run rule 6 inning game in game 2.  Alyssa Wilkerson picked up the win in game one giving up just 4 hits and 2 earned runs. Erin Simmons went 4 for 4, while Wilkerson, Jalyna Polichnowski and Linnea Nelson had multiple hits for Kish. Haley Trela smacked a solo homerun, as Crystal Haack and Kyra Johnson scored a run each for the offense.

Game two was all Kyra Johnson in the circle as she got the win allowing only 3 hits and 1 earned run while striking out 4.  Abby Stoffa hit a solo home run with garnering 3 RBI while teammates Polichnowski (3 hits), Johnson, Crystal Haack and Laila Anderson all scored at least one run each. Trela had 2 RBI.

Kishwaukee moves to 10-15 overall and 5-5 in the Arrowhead Conference.  The Kougars will travel to Morton College Friday before hitting the road again on Saturday as the go to Moraine Valley CC.
