September 8, 2022 - The Kishwaukee College Womens Soccer team hosted Illinois Valley Community College in Malta Thursday.  The Kougars would have constant pressure in the first half offensively from Britney Calin (DeKalb HS) and Diana Murrieta (DeKalb HS). Kish would score first, sixteen minutes in, on a goal by freshman Tracee Nelson (Byron HS) from an assist by freshman Lizbeth Milan (Rochelle HS).  IVCC would tie it a few minutes later but freshman "Lucy" Luciana Monroy (Rochelle HS) blasted a breakaway shot past the Eagle goalie off an assist from sophomore Cassie Winters (Genoa-Kingston HS) with 5:00 left in the first half.  The goal would prove to be the difference as Kish would defeat their Arrowhead Conference rival 2-1 with solid defense from sophomores Guadalupe Carrillo (DeKalb HS) and Valeria Gonzalez (Batavia HS) in the second half along with 6 saves by freshman Taylar Rufer (Oregon HS).

Kishwaukee (1-2 overall) will travel next to the College of DuPage in Glen Ellyn on Thursday, September 15.
