Kougars play well but drop one to Cavaliers

April 24, 2021 – The Kishwaukee College Women's Soccer team hosted Kankakee Community College on Saturday in Malta.  The Kougars played well in the first half but would eventually fall 6-1.  The first half had some solid defense by goalkeeper Kyla Rachas (Indian Creek HS), defenders Megan Buttens (Oregon HS), Olivia Lambrigtsen (Oregon HS) and Kayla Boyd (Stillman Valley HS) and Skylar Stanis (Genoa-Kingston HS) that turned away many Cavalier scoring threats.  A stretch of offensive pressure by Ana Tricio (Washington Academy-FL), Amanda Ortiz-Beckett (DeKalb HS) and Kaitlyn Galloway (Northside College Prep-OH HS) allowed Darian Lucas (DeKalb HS) to push one past the KCC goalie from an assist by Litzy Murrieta (DeKalb HS).  The goal brought the game to 3-1 at halftime.  KCC would stretch the lead to the final 6-1 score.  "I felt we had many positive moments and had some really nice pressures throughout the game especially on the first half goal" said Head Coach Henry Chung. "Overall, we are improving each game, which is what we have been talking about.  We just need to sustain it for an entire 90 minutes."

Kishwaukee (0-4 overall, 0-1 in Region IV division play) will host an important division match against South Suburban College on Saturday, May 1 with kick off at 2:00 pm
