Seven commit to Kishwaukee for Womens Soccer Inaugural Season

July 31, 2018 – Kishwaukee College and Head Women's Soccer Coach, Zac Ludwig, are proud to announce the commitment of seven recent incoming recruits for the inaugural 2018 season.  The recruits include Meghan Johnson (Aurora Central Catholic HS), Sarai Orozco (Genoa Kingston HS) , Avery Mertz (DeKalb HS), Arianna Moore (DeKalb HS), Emma Rourke (DeKalb HS), Dulce Resendiz (DeKalb HS) and Hope Akers (DeKalb)

Coach Ludwig on the recent class of recruits:

 

Meghan Johnson – "Meghan brings with her strong leadership qualities and a great understanding of defensive organization. She will be a great asset to our back line."

 

Sarai Orozco -  "She has a huge work ethic that inspires her teammates and elevates others' level of play."

 

Avery Mertz and Arianna Moore – "Avery and Arianna will be competing for the starting goalkeeper role. Avery reads the game well and is savvy in a variety of situations. Arianna has a great knack for getting to the ball and stopping shots."

 

Emma Rourke-  "She will be a very strong asset to our defense. She is tactically sound, wins balls, and retains the ball well in transition to attack."

 

Dulce Resendiz – "Dulce will be one of our more technical players and reads the game well. These qualities will benefit us in creating scoring chances."

 

Hope Akers – "She is one of the most disciplined and hard-working players we have, and she has potential to play in a variety of positions. Her versatility will benefit us throughout the inevitably unpredictable season."

 

Other incoming team members bringing Women's Soccer to Malta for the very first time include Sinclaire Baker, Sonia Barrientos, Dora Herrera, Herwine Lamelus, Olivia Napiorkowski, Jessica Gamez Quintero and Andrea Serriteno. 

 

The Lady Kougars will begin their inaugural season playing on August 22 at Rock Valley College beginning at 4:00 pm and their first ever-home match will be on August 29 versus Waubonsee College beginning at 4:00 pm.
