Kougars wrap up first ever participation in the NJCAA DI Womens Golf Championship

May 12, 2022 - The Kishwaukee Women's Golf team made history this past week down in Sanford, Florida playing in the 2022 NJCAA Women's Golf DI National Championship. This is the first time ever for the womens program to compete in the NJCAA Champioship and in just their third year in existence at Kishwaukee College under Head Coach Thomas Brennan.  The event started on Monday, May 9 with an opening round and concluded with final round play on Thursday, May 12.  Amber Fellows (Genoa Kingston HS) completed all rounds with a 402, Jillian Fuchs (samndwich HS) finished with a 461, Kylee Heck (Kirkland resident and Rockford Lutheran HS) had a 538 and Megan Buttens (Oregon HS) a 550. Kayla Boyd (Stillman Valley HS) DNC.  Coach Brennan on the week, "the ladies all played well all things considered, after some jitters on day one being in the championship.  It has been a lot of fun and the team comported themselves very well and I am very proud of all of them! I cannot wait to have our freshmen return next year and combine with our new recruits to have another run at this now knowing how it all happens.  Kishwaukee was one of 15 teams and a total of 90 golfers that competed in the championship rounds from across the country.  Other NJCAA teams included Western Texas and McClennan CC, Iowa Western, Dodge City CC, John A Logan, Seminole State, Daytona State, Tyler JC and Wallace State-Hanceville.  At-Large selections were Barton JC, Eastern Florida State CC, Mesa CC, Ranger CC and Redlands CC.
