Krystal Gundy began her tenure as Head Coach of the Kishwaukee College Lady Kougars in the 2017-2018 season.

Gundy comes to Kishwaukee after spending two seasons (2015-2017) as Head Coach at Rend Lake College (RLC). At RLC, Gundy had her first All-Conference and All Region player (Kennedy Prince) who then went on to play at Quincy University.

The 2017-2018 season was a rebuilding year for Gundy and the Lady Kougars. With a 5-24 record and losing in the District Quarter Final game, Gundy added another player to her All Conference list (Cayla Winters). In 2018-2019 season, Gundy doubled the Lady Kougars record (8-21) and competing in the first District Semi Finals game which had not been played in for the Lady Kougars since 2014. Within the season, Gundy had several players earn Player of the Week honors (Rashel Robinson, Morgan Baker, Cesca Vardman, and Ashley Kerns), three NJCAA Academic All American players (Ashley Kerns, Addie Kitzmiller and Morgan Baker), and one player earning All Region and All Conference honors (Rashel Robinson). Most recently, Coach Gundy’s 2021-2022 team returned to the NJCAA Region 4 Semi-final game.  After a 16-12 season, sophomore student athletes Olivia Lambrigtsen signed to play at the next level at Central Baptist college (AR) and teammate Lexi Keating signed to play at Rockford University.

As a player, Gundy was recruited for basketball on a full scholarship to Lake Land College (IL) and earning an Associate of Science degree. She continued on to be a two-sport athlete at MacMurray College playing soccer in addition to basketball.

As a graduate of MacMurray College, she earned her Bachelor of Science in Physical Education with a minor in Coaching and then continued her education further at Lindenwood University-Belleville earning her M.B.A in Business Administration.

Krystal Gundy is an Illinois native and went to Normal Community High School (NCHS ’06). She was a two-sport athlete playing soccer and basketball. In her senior year of basketball season, she received Big 12 First Team All-Conference honors, and earning a spot on the WJBC Area Standout Team. Gundy is the daughter of Stacey Cramer and Gary Gundy II. She currently resides in DeKalb, IL.
