Kougars win final Arrowhead Conference game at Sophomore Day

The Kishwaukee College Women's Basketball team hosted their final regular season game and conference game of the season on Saturday afternoon while also celebrating Sophomore Day.  Prior to beginning of the game, Kish honored Sophomores Megan Buttens (Oregon HS) and Lexi Keating (Belvidere HS).  The Kougars would then jump out quickly on the Eagles of Illinois Valley CC 26-4 after one quarter on the way to a 78-34 victory.  Every member of the Kish team scored during the game and were led by Lexi Keating's 18 points and 9 rebounds.  Balanced scoring for the Kougars included Chian Scott with 12 points (7 rebounds), Latonia Lacy 10 points (6 assists), Olivia Lambrigtsen 9 points (10 rebounds) and Bridget Babb with 8 points (5 steals).  Additionally, teammates Megan Buttens (3 rebounds, 2 steals), Samantha Koper (2 points and 3 rebounds), Madisyn Standard (4 points and 5 rebounds), Brooklyn Sellers (6 points and 8 rebounds), Sasha Krueger (3 points and 3 rebounds) and Nadia Timm (2 points) shined on the defensive end of the floor.  Alyx Carls led IVCC with 10 points.

With the conference victory, Kishwaukee (15-11 overall) swept the season series against Illinois Valley and finished 5-5 in the Arrowhead Conference.  Kish will now move on to the NJCAA Region IV Tourney and travel to Olive Harvey College on Wednesday, February 23 for a 5:30 pm tip-off.
