Kougars get two more wins over Eagles

April 8, 2025 - The Kishwaukee College Softball team hosted Illinois Valley CC Tuesday.  After dropping a pair at IVCC earlier this year in close fashion, the Kougs took control of both games to sweep the home doubleheader. In game one, Kishwaukee scored four key runs in the fourth inning, which helped them defeat the Eagles 7-1.  Laila Anderson hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run, Reilee Suter doubled, scoring two runs, and Ana-Kate Phillips singled, scoring one run.  IVCC opened the scoring in thet first but Kish took the lead in the bottom of the first as Kailey Goetz homered to left field, scoring two runs.  Alyssa Wilkerson earned the win for the Kougars as she gave up six hits and one run over seven innings, striking out three and walking one.  Phillips and Haley Von Schnase each collected three hits for Kish while Goetz and Suter each drove in two runs.

In game two, Ana-Kate Phillips hit two home runs and drove in six as Kish defeated Illinois Valley Softball 9-4. Phillips homered in the first and fourth innings. The Kougars extended their early lead with two runs in the bottom of the third thanks to RBI singles by Haley Von Schnase and Lilli DelhotalKyra Johnson earned the win for Kish giving up nine hits and four runs over seven innings, striking out five and walking two. Delhotal, Johnson, and Von Schnase each collected multiple hits while Bella Koertner stole two bases.

Kishwaukee (17-15 overall and 8-6 Arrowhead Conference) will travel to play Carl Sandburg College on Thursday in a doubleheader (weather permitting).
