
March 29, 2025 - Alyssa Wilkerson struck out 10 batters in game one Saturday at Malta, but the Kougars fell to Kankakee CC 3-1. Wilkerson allowed two hits and three runs over seven innings while walking four. Kish lost despite out-hitting KCC five to two. Kailey Goetz led Kishwaukee with two hits. Crystal Haack led the Kougs with one run batted in. The left fielder went 1-for-2 on the day.
In game two, KCC defeated Kish 11-2 thanks in part to nine runs in the sixth inning. Kishwaukee Kougars opened the scoring in the first after Kailey Goetz singled, scoring one run. Ana-Kate Phillips grounded into a fielder's choice, which helped Kish tie the game at two in the bottom of the third. But the go ahead run was out in a close call at home as the Kish runner attemtped to score on a wild pitch that same inning. Phillips, Goetz, and Reilee Suter each collected one hit for the Kougars. Phillips and Goetz also each drove in one run.
Next up for Kishwaukee (11-9 overall, 4-2 Arrowhead Conference) is a string of three conference doubleheaders this week with an away date at Illinois Valley CC Monday.
