
March 10, 2025 - After going 3-1 over the weekend in Winter Haven, Florida as part of their annual spring trip, the Kougars softball team split two games Monday. In game one, Kish was able to tie the game 2-2 in their half of the sixth inning but Iowa Lakes CC plated two runs in the top of the seventh inning to win 4-2. Ana-Kate Phillips (2 runs 1 RBI), Kyra Johnson, Haley Von Schnase and Lilli Delhotal had hits for Kish. Alyssa Wilkerson went all 7 innings allowing 2 ER while striking out 3 in the loss.
Kishwaukee would bounce back in the second game of the day with a big 5 run fourth inning to eventually win 8-2 over Ellsworth CC. Kyra Johnson, Kailey Goetz, Phillips (4 runs scored) and Delhotal each had 3 hits while Tyra Smith and Lillie Gebel both scored runs. Kyra Johnson got the win going seven strong allowing 2 ER and striking out two.
The Kougars (7-3 overall) will play their final two games of the southern Florida trip on Wednesday versus Cuyahoga CC and Mott CC.
