Softball continues winning ways

April 19, 2024 - The Kishwaukee College Softball team hosted Harper College Friday and would take both ends of the doubleheader 2-0 and 16-7 in six innings. Game one saw Alyssa Wilkerson throw her second consecutive complete game no hitter as she struck out 11.  Haley Trela, Erin Simmons, Linnea Nelson, Abby Stoffa and Kyra Johnson (GW RBI) had the only hits for Kish while Simmons and Laila Anderson scored the two runs.  

Game two Kish jump out to a 4-0 lead after two but Harper would battle back to tie after their half of the third inning.  The Kougars would respond with 1 run in their third, followed by 5 in the fourth inning and 4 in the fifth on the way to a run rule 16-7 win.  Alyssa Owen started in the circle to get the win while getting 6 Hawk batters to strikeout.  Johnson would come in and get the final two innings with no earned runs and 1 strikeout.  Jalyna Polichnowski scored three runs for Kishwaukee while teammates Haley Von Schnase (3), Trela (3), Crystal Haack (2) and Johnson (3) had multiple hits.  Linnea Nelson had 5 RBI and Erin Simmons 3 RBI plus a home run.

Kish with the sweep moves to 18-17 overall on the season and will host Triton College on Sunday.
