
March 17, 2023 - The Kishwaukee College Softball team is finally ready to start facing other teams for the spring season. "We are very excited to finally play someone else and see how we can build off what was a very successful fall season!" said Head Coach Eric Simmons. "The staff is confident the new recruits and our returning players are ready as we get prepared to head out on our spring trip in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina this weekend." The Kougars will open up with games on March 19 versus Alpena Community College (MI) and Monroe Community College (MI) in South Carolina. Kish will also see WVU Potomac State College, Genessee Community College (NY), St Charles (MO) Community College and SUNY-Purchase there, over their six days down south, before returning back to Illinois to face perennial nationally ranked Rock Valley College in Rockford on March 28. Key NJCAA Region 4 road doubleheader dates will include games against Morton College, Joliet Junior College, Madison College (WI), Harper College, College of Lake County and Bryant and Stratton College (WI). The Kougars are eager to host key matchups on their newly rennovated home field against Eureka College, College of DuPage, Kankakee Commuinty College, McHenry County College, Waubonsee Community College and Oakton College as well as compete against Arrowhead Conference rivals Illinois Valley Community College, Highland Community College, Black Hawk College, Carl Sandburg College and Sauk Valley Community College. "We have very good flexibilty in positions this year which we should be able to mix and match some lineups all season while still being very competitive no matter who is out there, " added Coach Simmons.
