Kishwaukee Mens Golf makes some history at Skyhawk Classic

September 10, 2020 – The Kishwaukee College Men's Golf team made some history at the Skyhawk Classic at PrairieView GC in Byron, IL Thursday.  The two-day tournament marked the first time in about a decade that Kishwaukee College has fielded a team for competition.  The team of Matthew Randall (Bridgewater-Emery-SD HS), Noah Forsberg (Sycamore HS), Dyllon Davis (Sycamore HS), Hayden Jones (Rochelle HS) and Thomas O'Connor (Englewood - CO HS) moved up the standings in a steady rain all day to finish in sixth place ahead of host Sauk Valley CC.  The Kougars turned in solid scores throughout the roster in their first invite of the year - Randall (183) Forsberg (183) Jones (197) and Davis (207).  Individually, O'Connor finished in first place by 1 stroke with a final total two-day score of 151 on Kish's historic return to competition.   O'Connor was tied for the lead after day one and carried it through today's rounds to medal.

Coach Brennan on the results - "I am very happy to finally get our season up and running.  It has been a long summer with a lot of uncertainty and it's great to get a tournament under our belts.  An amazing performance by Thomas in winning the Skyhawk Classic!  He could not have started the year any better.   He and the team persevered through very bad weather both days of the event.  Each team member improved a great deal the second day and the team moved up the standings.  I'm very proud of all of the guys for hanging in there and finishing strong.  We certainly have a lot to look forward to this season and I can't wait to get the guys out there next week!"

The team will travel to Silis, Illinois next Tuesday, September 15th  in the 22nd Annual Duane Chanay Invitational at TPC Deer Run hosted by Black Hawk College.
