Kishwaukee College Bowling teams open season in Wauwatosa

October 2, 2022- The Kishwaukee College Women's and Men's Bowling teams travelled to Wauwatosa, Wisconsin over the weekend to compete in the USBC Midwest Collegiate Championships.  This was the first event of the year for both teams as they competed against four-year colleges and universities including Lindenwood University, Wisconsin-Whitewater, St Francis University, Marian (WI) University. Concordia University, Grand Valley State University, McKendree University, Quincy University, Roosevelt University and Judson University to name a few. 

Out of 416 bowlers Aaron Olson (DeKalb HS) finished 150th place with a 173 average. Riley Runowiecki (Sycamore HS) was 163rd , Jaylen Edwards (Thornton Fractional North HS) finished in 199th place and Adam Zeller (Sycamore HS) 288th place.  On the women's side, out of 273 bowlers Alyssa Mickley (Rochelle HS) took 94th place with a 170 average to led the Kougars along with teammates Julialyn Shedd (DeKalb HS) with a 116 high game and Carly Summers (Rochelle HS).

"It was a tough first tournament competition wise for us but I felt we had made some really good progress and growth throughout the weekend from everyone of the athletes," said Head Coach Jeff Tamraz.  "We will use this weekend to get us better for the rest of the season, but I saw a lot of positives from us going up against four-year caliber teams and individuals."  The Kougars will next compete on October 29-30 in a Great Lakes Conference Invite at Cherry Bowl in Rockford, Illinois.
