Esports shines in spring postseason

April 19, 2023 -  The Kishwaukee College Esports team made history this past weekend in the NJCAAE postseason.  For the first time since its inaugural year in 2020-2021, the Kougars competed in the playoffs in all three titles they played in a semester.  Antonio Suarez finished 15th nationally in Super Smash Bros Ultimate going 4-2 in the playoffs.  Teammates Katrina Ingalls and Aaron Olson made it to the national semi finals, falling one win short of the Grand Nationals in Call of Duty-Gunfight.  Antonio Suarez also successfully went deep in the playoffs for MarioKart8 getting into the semi finals and was one win away from the Grand Finals. Title playoff results (as received) were as follows:

won quarter finals match against Northeastern Technical College (SC) 3-1

lost in semi finals match against Hinds Community College (MS) 1-3

 

Super Smash Bros

Won against Iowa Central CC 3-0

Lost against Mott Community College (MI) 1-3

Won against Mississippi Gulf Coast CC  3-0

Won against Northeastern Technical College (SC) 3-1

Won against Suffolk Community College (VA) 3-0

Lost against Heartland Community College (IL) 0-3

 

MarioKart 8

 

Won against Shelton State Community College (AL) 4-1

Won against Jefferson State Community College (AL) 4-0

Lost to Union College (NY) 0-4
