BSE walks off game one to split DH versus Sauk Valley

April 8, 2025 - The Kishwaukee College Baseball team, after dropping away DH to Sauk Valley on Saturday, hosted the Skyhawks Tuesday.  It came down to the wire in game one as Kish grabbed the victory in walk-off fashion, 4-3. The game was tied at three in the bottom of the seventh when Jackson Young singled, scoring one run.  Daelen Figueroa collected three hits in four at bats in the win. Figueroa singled in the first inning, singled in the sixth inning, and singled in the seventh inning.  The Kougars captured the lead, 3-1, in the bottom of the sixth after Jonathan Hartline singled to center field, Sawyer Larson tripled to center field, and Lenox Estremera doubled to center field, each scoring one run.  John Schulte started the game and threw a complete game giving up six hits and three runs over seven innings, striking out four and walking none.  Kishwaukee amassed 10 hits in the game as Hartline, Young, Estremera, and Larson each drove in one run. Figueroa stole four bases while the team stole six bases in the game.

For game two, the Kougs were the first to get on the board in the second when Sawyer Larson doubled, scoring one run. Sauk Valley captured the lead, 4-1, in the top of the third scoring three runs on the way to a 10-5 win.  Will Baumgartner started the game for Kish as he allowed six hits and seven runs over four innings, striking out four and walking four.  Jonathan Hartline provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led the Kougars with two runs batted in. The catcher went 1-for-4 on the day. Lenox Estremera led the team with two hits in two at-bats.

Kishwaukee will travel on Friday to take on McHenry County College.
