Kougars get swept in Arrowhead Conference opener in Moline

March 25, 2025 - The Kishwaukee College Baseball team dropped a pair of games 9-0 and 8-2 to open up Arrowhead Conference play Tuesday in Moline. Game one action started with Black Hawk getting on the board in the bottom of the first inning as well as adding a run on the bottom of the second off starting pitcher, John Schulte who gave up seven hits and five runs over five innings, striking out one and walking six.  Jonathan Hartline and Will Baumgartner each collected one hit for Kishwaukee to lead the offense.

Game two had a good first four innings for Kish but a big fifth inning have BHC the victory.  The Kougars opened the scoring in the third after Daelen Figueroa was struck by a pitch, resulting in an RBI for the first run. Sawyer Larson hit a solo home run to left field in the top of the sixth for the Kishwaukee.  Will Baumgartner opened the game on the mound for the Kougars. The starter allowed six hits and seven runs over four and two-thirds innings, striking out one and walking two.  Jacob Mersman pitched an inning in relief giving up 1 earned run and striking out one.  Jackson Young and Larson each collected one hit for Kish while Figueroa and Larson each drove in one run plus Tyler Schmidt stole two bases. Kishwaukee didn't commit a single error in the field.

Next up for Kish is a makeup DH versus Black Hawk College at home Wednesday and then hosting Olive Harvey College on Thursday in a nine inning single game.
