
March 21, 2025 - The Kishwaukee Kougars baseball team travelled to River Grove Friday and bested Triton College 10-6 on Friday. Kish got on the board in the top of the first inning after the Trojans committed an error, and Brock Metzger singled to center field, each scoring two runs. Four more Kougars runs crossed the plate in the second inning to extend the lead to 8-3. Will Baumgartner singled, scoring one run, Daelen Figueroa tripled, scoring one run, and Jonathan Hartline homered to left field, scoring two runs. Kishwaukee added to their early lead in the top of the third inning after Victor Flores stole home, and Triton committed an error, each scoring one run.
Alex Prince pitched six and one-third innings in relief for Kish. The hurler allowed five hits and one run (zero earned) while, striking out five and walking none. Patrick Jasinski stepped on the bump first for the Kougars. The starting pitcher gave up six hits and five runs over two and two-thirds innings, striking out two and walking four.
Kishwaukee collected 11 hits in the game. Figueroa led with three hits in five at bats. Hartline, Jack Okun, and Metzger each drove in two runs. Baumgartner collected two hits while Flores and Sawyer Larson each stole multiple bases. The Kougars stole four bases and turned three double plays in the game.
Kish (2-12 overall) will next travel to Black Hawk College for an Arrowhead Conference DH Tuesday after the scheduled DH at home has been postponed.
