Mott pushes streak to six with two wins in Florida

CLERMONT, Fla. - The Mott Community College softball team pushed its win streak to six games with a pair of victories at The Spring Games on Wednesday in Clermont, Fla. 

The Bears opened the day with a 5-1 win over Triton College. After an exhibition against Ohio Christian University JV, Mott topped Kishwaukee College 7-2 to move to 7-3 overall. 

Inside the Box Score vs. Triton:

• Keira McGarvie finished with two hits, two RBIs, and a run scored. 

• Arika Hines added two hits, an RBI, a run scored, and a walk. 

• Cassie Sylvester, Emma Benner, Carly Hoover, Khloe Williams, Josie Spencer, and Alexis Hemker each added a hit. 

• Arika Hines (3-1) earned the win with a complete game. She tossed seven innings, allowing one run on four hits, walking one and striking out nine. 

Inside the Box Score vs. Kishwaukee:

• Sylvester recorded three hits, one run, and one RBI. 

• Hines added two hits, one run and one RBI. 

• McGarvie finished with a hit and three RBIs, while Spencer added a home run. 

• Maggie Boehm (4-1) got the win on the mound. She threw all seven innings, allowing two runs on five hits, walking one and striking out five.
