Sports Medicine Mission Statement:

To provide the student-athletes of Kishwaukee College the access to the highest quality of sports medicine care and services ensuring that all injuries are managed, treated, and rehabilitated to make certain there is a safe return to athletic participation; and through those personal interactions, help enhance the academic and athletic  experiences of each individual.

Definition of an Athletic Trainer

Sports Medicine

Athletic Trainers (ATs) are health care professionals who collaborate with physicians. The services provided by ATs comprise prevention, emergency care, clinical diagnosis, therapeutic intervention and rehabilitation of injuries and medical conditions. ATs work under the direction of physicians, as prescribed by state licensure statutes.     ~National Athletic Trainers’ Association 2014

Athletic Training services  at Kishwaukee College are provided through a partnership with Kishwuakee Health Systems now a  part of Northwestern Medicine. This partnership includes providing practice and game day coverage, providing a team physician, access to rehabilitation services, and many other services to help provided the highest quality of care to the student-athlete.
