Womens Cross Country wrap up year at regionals, Barragan qualifies for NJCAA Nationals

October 27, 2018 - The Kishwaukee College Women's Cross Country team completed their inaugural year competing in Region IV this past Saturday.  The Kougars ran on a beautiful fall day in Grayslake, Illinois hosted by the College of Lake County. The ladies ran with the Kishwaukee Men's team and all the runners including Aly Moore, Marylou Nunez, Andrew Brening and Robert Hanson performed well running personal bests for the year and dramatically reducing their times from the beginning of the season.  Tania Barragan finished 9th qualifying her for an All-Region IV team selection.  Barragan will now also compete in the NJCAA Division I National Cross Country meet on November 10 in Garden City, Kansas as this year's event is hosted by Garden City (KS) Community College.

Coach Collins and Coach Gillis - "We are extremely proud of the effort the team put forth this year and having them perform the way they did at Regionals!  Today represents the start of something special at Kishwaukee College and the Cross Country program.  We cannot wait to get back to work with our returners and our new recruits to build off of what these student athletes did this year.  But first, it's on to Kansas to support Tania and her hard work this year to get to Nationals and as she represents her family, the cross country program, Kishwaukee College and the college community!"
