Kougars get in final tune up before Nationals at Augustana College Invite over weekend

May 1, 2022 - The Kishwaukee College Women's Golf Team travelled to Highland Springs GC in Rock island over the weekend to compete in the Augustana College Spring Invite.  This was the final tune-up for the team before travelling to Sanford, Florida May 9-12 to compete in the NJCAA National Championships.  Amber Fellows carded an 88 and 100 in here two day rounds in the mainly four-year college student-athlete event.  Meanwhile, Kylee Heck went 127-118 and Megan Buttens put in a 137-139.  Kishwaukee will represent the Midwest District by their championship in the fall semester. Other NJCAA teams that Kish will compete against will be from the Southwest District: Western Texas and McClennan CC, Plains: Iowa Western and Dodge City CC, Central: John A Logan, Southeast:  Seminole State and Daytona State and South:  Tyler JC and Wallace State-Hanceville.  At-Large selections are Barton, Eastern Florida State CC, Mesa CC, Ranger CC and Redlands CC. 

Coach Brennan on the trip to nationals - "It's an exciting opportunity for the womens team to represent Kishwaukee, their families and the community!  They are also the first Women's Golf team in our NJCAA Region 4 to ever qualify from the Midwest District Championship so we want to make sure we make the region proud in our efforts next week.  Most importantly, the ladies are going out to enjoy the tournament and continue to use the experiences in growing the Womens Golf program at Kishwaukee for future teams to strive for."   The Kougars' team qualifying to Nationals includes:  Amber Fellows (Genoa Kingston HS), Jillian Fuchs (Sandwich HS), Kylee Heck (Kirkland native and Rockford Lutheran HS), Megan Buttens (Oregon HS), Nina Baratta (Dixon HS) and alternate Kayla Boyd (Stillman Valley HS).
