Kishwaukee inaugural Women’s Golf season underway

September 14, 2020 – The very first event of the inaugural Kishwaukee College Women's Golf season took place Monday at the Judson University Invite / Randall Oaks Golf Club in West Dundee, Illinois. The Lady Kougars faced a heavy dose of junior and senior laden golfers from Judson University, Wisconsin Lutheran, University of Dubuque, Aurora University and Trinity Christian.  The final scorecards showed Haleigh Peterson (Indian Creek HS) and Jillian Fuchs (Sandwich HS) navigating through the course to finish 1st and 2nd respectively of the junior college competitors.  Peterson (118) and Fuchs (130) provided a solid start in the first collegiate event for the two Kish Freshman.

Coach Brennan on the results of the first women's golf event in college history - "It's great that Jillian and Haleigh are part of college history today and are laying the foundation for the program!  Today's course was a little longer then they are used to but I really like both ladies' approach on the course, they both are hard workers and will continuously improve upon each week's results.  Both are very solid with very good swings and hit the ball well! I am eager to see their growth from this invite and over the next few weeks…it should be exciting to watch!"

The Kishwaukee women will host a dual invite against Bryant and Stratton (WI) at Fairways GC in Rochelle on September 25 and will then travel to Lake Bracken GC near Galesburg for a Tri-invite hosted by Carl Sandburg College.  September competition will finish with another four-year university challenge at the Culver Stockton Fall Invite in Quincy, Illinois on September 28.
