Kishwaukee Womens Basketball gets season started

November 11, 2018 - The Kishwaukee Women's Basketball team began their season this past week with three contests.  Kish had their season opener in Palatine, Illinois against host Harper College.  The Kougars had an impressive start as they led 25-13 at half and 46-22 at the end of the third quarter on their way to a convincing 58-29 victory.  Addie Kitzmiller was the leading scorer with 19 points.  Morgan Baker (14 points), Rashel Robinson (10) and Cayla Winters (7 points, 8 rebounds) also paced the Kish offense.

On Tuesday, November 6 the Kougars hosted NJCAA Division III #2 ranked Rock Valley College.  Kishwaukee held close for the better part of three quarters but would eventually lose 78-56.  Baker led the way in scoring with 12 points.  Kitzmiller chipped in 11 while Danielle Stiles and Winters added 10 apiece.  Abigail Kerns dished out 7 assists and Robinson pulled down 16 rebounds.

A non region opponent, Lincoln Land College, travelled to Malta on Saturday, November 10.  Kishwaukee would make a strong run in the third quarter outscoring Lincoln Land but it wasn't enough in the end as Lincoln Land would stretch the game score out to 66-47 in the final six minutes.  Baker had 16 points while Cesca Vardman contributed 6 points and 4 rebounds.

Kishwaukee (1-2 overall) will go to Palos Hills on Tuesday, November 13 to battle Moraine Valley Community College with start time at 5:30 pm before returning home on Saturday, November 17 to take on the College of Lake County with tip-off at 1:00 pm.
