Cayla Winters receives Arrowhead Conference 2nd team honors

March 8, 2018 - The Arrowhead Conference has announced that Freshman Guard Cayla Winters has been recognized as an All-Conference 2nd Team player for 2017-2018 season.  Winters, a graduate of Genoa Kingston High School, averaged 10.5 pts per game, 7.4 Rebounds per game and 1.1 assist per game.

Head Coach Krystal Gundy on Cayla and her recognition:

Cayla has come a long way this season! Coaching her was definitely just building her confidence and her teammates believing in her! Once she had that you could see the success growing throughout the season.  In addition, with this being a return to Region IV and Arrowhead Conference season play for women's basketball at Kish, when I went to nominate a few of players including Cayla it was great to see how the other conference coaches voted for our players!  It was a reinforcement knowing that your efforts as a coach to not only teach the game of basketball but also teaching your players about effort and hard work will definitely pay off!

It has been a true honor to have one of our (Assistant Coach Miranda Maples and my) players be a part of the all-conference team!  We are very excited for Cayla to receive this honor!
