Kougars softball keeps building postiive momentum with 2 wins vs MVCC

April 13, 2024 - The Kishwaukee Kougars softball team travelled to Palos Hills on Saturday for an afternoon doubleheader against Moraine Valley CC.  Kish would earn another sweep as they won both games 9-0 and 8-7 in extra innings.  For game one, Alyssa Wilkerson picked up the win going all seven innings allowing no earned runs while striking out four.  Erin Simmons led the Kougars with three RBI and Haley Trela and Linnea Nelson had 2 RBI each.  Jalyna Polichnowski scored 3 runs, Haley Von Schnase 2 runs as Abby Stoffa had 2 hits and Crystal Haack added a hit and run scored.  Game two an against the Cyclones went into extra innings as Polichnowski scored the game winner in the eighth and Wilkerson garnered her second win of the day striking out final batter.  Kyra Johnson started and went six strong innings.  Simmons had 3 RBI while Wilkerson had 2 RBI, Johnson 2 hits and Trela 2 runs scored and a double.

Kish moves to 14-15 on season and will host Black Hawk College next in Arrowhead Conference DH with possible move to Monday instead of Tuesday with rain forecasted.
