Softball gets back on field at SVCC get another win

April 5, 2024 - The Kishwaukee College softball team finally got back the field Friday afternoon with a break in the wet weather to split a doubleheader against Arrowhead Conference foe Sauk Valley CC. In game one, Kish got out to an early lead and won most of the innings but had to hang on to win in Dixon 10-7.  Abby Stoffa, Haley Von Schnase and Erin Simmons had two RBI each.  Jalyna Polichnowski, Haley Trela, Linnea Nelson, Crystal Haack and Kyra Johnson all crossed the plate with a run scored.  Alyssa Wilkerson secured the win in circle plus added two hits offensively. Greta Horner picked up the save.

In game two, the Kougars had 11-6 lead heading into the bottom of the sixth but would drop the nightcap to 12-11 with the Skyhawks five run rally in the sixth inning. Stoffa, Simmons and Trela all hit home runs while teammates Johnson and Chelsea Hatfield each scored a run. Kishwaukee (7-10 overall, 2-4 in Arrowhead Conference play) will be back at it tomorrow with a doubleheader at home versus Madison College - 12:00 pm first pitch game one then will travel to Kankakee CC on Sunday.
