Softball wraps up spring trip with sweep

March 14, 2024 - The Kishwaukee College Softball team finished their last day on their Spring Trip in Florida by winning both games Thursday.   In game one, Kish beat Aquinas University JV 9-6.  A big five run fourth inning was the difference for the Kougars. Haley Von Schnase, Linnea Nelson, Erin Simmons and Haley Trela had two hits each.  Abby Stoffa, Kyra Johnson, Laila Anderson, Melina Zak and Jalyna Polichnowski all added to the team total of 13 hits in the game. Johnson picked up win in the circle with 3 strikeouts and Crystal Haack played solid defense behind her.

Game two was a close game throughout but Kishwaukee needed a walk off seventh to win 3-2 over MidAmerican Nazarene University JV. Von Schnase opened the seventh with a triple and scored, and after a Nelson walk and Johnson double, Alyssa Wilkerson drove a single to right for the game winner. Wilkerson went all seven innings for the victory pitching. Kishwaukee went 4-4 on the trip and sit 5-4 overall on the season as they return to action back in Illinois next Thursday.
