Kougars sit 2-2 after Day 2 of spring trip

March 11, 2024 - The Kishwaukee College Softball team is in the midst of their spring trip in Florida this week and are sitting with a 2-2 record after two days and 4 games in Titusville.  Sunday saw the Kougars win 6-5 in extra innings versus St Cloud Technical College. Jalyna Polichnowski and Erin Simmons had 2 RBI each, while Haley Trela added 2 hits and 2 runs, Abby Stoffa and Laila Anderson scored a run each. Kyra Johnson also tallied a hit and went seven innings with 5 strikeouts for the win.  Alyssa Wilkerson held things down in the eighth with 2 strikeouts of the three batters faced for the save.  The nightcap on Sunday saw Kish tied with Iowa Central CC 1-1 after five innings but would fall 8-1 with a rough sixth.  Monday's games saw the Kougars split again losing to Iowa Central 10-3 in the early am game as Crystal Haack had a hit and 2 RBI.  Kishwaukee would come back and win the nightcap against Williston State College 4-1 as Linnea Nelson hit a grand slam in the 4th inning to propel Kish to the victory. Alyssa Wilkerson went the full seven innings allowing just 1 earned run while striking out 8. Haley Von Schnase added a hit and a run scored.

Kishwaukee is now 3-2 overall on the season and will continue their Florida trip Tuesday through Thursday before returing home to host Bryant and Stratton (WI) College on March 25 at 3:00 pm first game
