Softball gets win to open up season before going on spring trip

March 7, 2024 - The Kishwaukee College Softball team opened up their season on the road in Iowa and defeated the University of Dubuque JV 3-0 Thursday afternoon. Kyra Johnson (Kaneland HS) 3 inn, 0 ER 4 Ks, Alyssa Wilkerson (Sycamore HS) 1 inn, 1 K 0 ER and Chelsea Hatfield (Indian Creek HS) 2 inn, 0 ER combine for team win.  Jalyna Polichnowski (Sycamore HS) scored 2 runs and had 4 stolen bases while Erin Simmons (Sycamore HS) and Haley Trela (Sycamore HS) picked up RBI each.  Crystal Haack (Hiawatha HS), Laila Anderson (Oregon HS) and Linnea Nelson (Byron HS) added hits plus Haley Von Schnase (Sycamore HS) walked 4 times and had a run scored, as all the Kougars added to the offensive attack.

The Kougars prepare to leave this weekend to Orlando, Florida for their spring trip through Friday the 15th.  Kish will play in Titusville, Florida and battle St Cloud Technical College, Iowa Central CC, Wiliston State College, Lewis and Clark CC, Clarke University JV, St Louis CC and Southeastern CC throughout the week
