Softball sweeps key DH versus Highland

 

April 25, 2019 – The Kishwaukee College women's softball team took two games against visiting Highland Community College Thursday in Malta by the scores of 7-2 and 3-1.  The opening game featured pitcher Larisa Smits going the full seven innings allowing just two earned runs while striking out five.  At the plate, Kish was led by Taelor Schmitz (2 runs, 2 RBI), Helena Porter (run, RBI) and Alexis Gordon (2 runs, RBI) who each had two hits.  Faith Roush pounded out a home run to help the Kougars.

Game two saw another complete game gem in the circle by Alexis Ramon who gave up just one earned run while striking out three Highland batters in her seven innings of work. Schmitz and Hailey White each tallied three hits in the game while Smits and Gordon collected two hits each. Shaylee Clow and Jessica Meyers each drove in a run for Kish.

Kishwaukee (10-19 overall, 2-12 Arrowhead Conference) will travel on Friday to Parkland College before returning to Malta on Sunday to play #12 NJCAA ranked Madison College with first pitch at 12:00 pm.  Then on Monday the Kougars will begin the final week push with games on Monday through Wednesday (weather permitting).
