First cross country meet of season shows promise for the Kougars

August 24, 2019 - The Kishwaukee Mens and Womens Cross Country teams travelled to Dixon, Illinois Saturday to run in the Sauk Valley Invite.  This was the first meet of the season for both Kish teams and after the day was over the Kougars finsihed very well.  "It was defintely a strong first showing", said first year Cross Country Head Coach Brad Hunt.  "There are still a few things to work on, but we'll get there and I am happy with how we competed today!" On the mens side, Jonathan Landis (Sterling HS) took 3rd with a time of 17:43.  Adrian Ruiz (DeKalb HS) placed 9th, Andrew Brening (Genoa Kingston HS) 11th, Ian Harrison (DeKalb HS) 12th, Johnathan Hillier (DeKalb HS) 15th and Robert Hanson (DeKalb HS)16th.  For the women, Anne Hickey (Rochelle HS) took 7th place with a 15:10 and Riley Limon (Sandwich HS) finished a strong 10th.

Both teams will travel to Kenosha, Wisconsin on September 6 to run in the UW Parkside Invitational then the following week to Aurora, Illinois to compete in the Aurora University Spartan Invite both with 5:00 pm step off times.
