Kougars comeback falls short in Arrowhead opener

January 4, 2024 - After going 1-1 at the John Wood CC Classic December 30-31, the Kishwaukee College Men's Basketball team opened up the 2024 part of the season in Oglesby Thursday night.  It was also the first Arrowhead Conference game for Kish against Illinois Valley CC.  The Eagles would hold a 44-38 advantage at the half.  However, the second half saw the Kougars outscoring IVCC 39-34 but it wasn't quite enough as the comeback fell short in a 78-77 loss.  Kish was led offensively by Joshua Bocher's 30 point, 10 rebound double-double, followed by Riley Yonker with 11 points and Amonn Burns 10 points.  Teammate Brayden Johnson contributed 9 points and 2 assists, Braxton Highbaugh added 8 points and 2 steals, Cooper Hasz with 4 points, 2 steals and 4 rebounds, and Brock Zimmerman with 2 points, 3 rebounds and led the team with 6 assists.

Kishwaukee (7-9 overall, 0-1 Arrowhead Conference) will be on the road again next Tuesday against another Arrowhead Conference foe, Blackhawk College with tip-off scheduled at 7:00 pm
