Kish Men’s Basketball fights back to win first 2020 game

January 6, 2020 -  The Kishwaukee Men's Basketball team turned the season calendar Monday night in Malta for their first 2020 contest.  Kish had to fight back from a 43-36 halftime deficit versus a gritty Rockford University JV squad.  The Kougars' hustle and intensity in the second half prevailed in a 74-72 nail biter victory.  Emonte Collins (Hammond IN – Morton HS) paced the team with 20 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists.  Connor Todd (Indian Creek HS) added another double-double on the season with 19 points and 16 rebounds.  Griffin Hansen (Genoa Kingston HS) hit for 15 points and 4 rebounds while Daelyn Franklin (Doss-KY HS) and CJ Ciesielczyk (Somonauk HS) pitched in with 7 points and 7 assists and 7 points 3 assists respectively.  Kenny Adams (Glenbard East HS) had 6 points for the Kougars.  The game was won in the lane as Kish had 40 points in the paint compared to Rockford's 24 points.

Kishwaukee (5-10 overall) starts Arrowhead Conference play at home this Thursday, January 9 against Illinois Valley Community College.  Tip-off will be approximately 7:30 pm following the women's contest versus IVCC.
