December 19, 2018 - The Kishwaukee College Men's Basketball team travelled to Sugar Grove on Tuesday night and played focused team basketball down the stretch to pick up a big win in overtime versus Waubonsee Community College 74-71. The Chiefs held a 36-29 lead at the half and led by as many as 13 in the second half but solid team defense and late free throw success gave the Kougars a chance to win in OT. Luke Davis (24 points and 9 rebounds) and Marshawn Phillips (18 points and 6 rebounds) made crucial free throws near the end of regulation and in overtime to lead Kishwaukee. Robert Johnson (9 points and 8 rebounds), Caleb Gould (9 points and 5 assists) along with Emonte Collins (6 points and 4 steals), Anathi Davis-Peal and Martinez Lenyoun were relentless on defense and on the offensive glass late to help preserve the victory.
Kishwaukee (9-5 overall) will wrap up the 2018 portion of their schedule at home on Saturday, December 29 versus Madison (WI) College with tip off approximately at 3:00 pm. Kish will then host a home game on January 4 at 7:00 pm versus Aurora University (JV) to kick off the new year before entering Arrowhead Conference competition.
