April 10, 2018 - Kishwaukee College Athletics welcomed Jonathan "Jay" Moore as the new Head Coach for Men's Basketball. Moore assumed his new position on April 10. Jay Moore has been the Assistant Coach Men's Basketball Coach at Kishwaukee College since 2016. Previously he was the Head Coach for Freshmen Boys Basketball and Assistant Coach for Varsity Boys Basketball at DeKalb High School from 2012 – 16. He has also coached youth travel ball teams in the suburbs, the Illinois Attack and Illinois Rockets. Moore has a Bachelor degree in Organizational Communication from the University of Dubuque in Iowa. He played power forward in high school in his native Gary, Indiana and was recruited by Sauk Valley Community College where he received accolades as Most Improved Player and had the highest field goal percentage on the team. He was also named to 2nd Team All-Conference and was the Team Captain. He continued his career at Dubuque.
Coach Moore is excited to take over a team that he has coached for the past two years as an assistant. "There is a solid framework to build on at Kish," he said. "I want to continue the tradition and emphasize that concepts of playing for the team first and then yourself. Being selfless is important in team ball." He is currently recruiting players for the 2018 – 19 season. "I want student-athletes who want to be here and who want to be better," he said. "Kish is a perfect platform for players to keep progressing, to prepare themselves for the next level. I am really excited about next season and coaching a team that will play hard and play smart - together."
