Kishwaukee ends season with road loss to #1 seeded Morton College (75-65).

The Kishwaukee men's basketball team lost their regional quarter-final game Thursday night on the road to #1 seeded Morton College by a score of 75-65.  Kishwaukee played a very hard fought game with only six players in uniform.  The Kougars would go back and forth early on with Morton; who were the Skyway Conference regular season champions this season.  The Kougars would hold small leads during the 1st half led by strong outside shooting from freshman guard Caleb Gould(Rochelle HS) and freshman guard Landon Griffith(Rochelle HS).  Both players would connect on 4 baskets in the first half, three of Gould's baskets would be from behind the 3pt line.  Kishwaukee would go into half-time trailing by 5 points with Morton scoring a put-back offensive rebound lay-up right before the horn sounded.  The  Panthers would come out strong and build their largest lead of the game with a 13-4 run to begin the second half but Kishwaukee would battle back to close the gap.  The Kougars would take their largest lead with 5 minutes left to play holding onto a 64-58 advantage.  Morton would get some timely outside shooting while the Kougars would be a step slow closing out to tie the game at 60-60 with 2 minutes remaining.  Kishwaukee would come up empty on the offensive end and have to resort to fouling Morton down the stretch for the final score of 75-65.  Kishwaukee was led by Gould's 17 points while also collecting 6 rebounds and dishing out a game high 6 assists.  Sophomore point guard Rudy Lopez(Dekalb HS) would also score 17 points on the night.  Griffith would contribute 16 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists, and 3 steals.  Freshman forward Keyshawn Stallworth(Sycamore HS) would record another double-double with 10 points and 13 rebounds in the loss.  The loss ends Kishwaukee's season while Morton continues onto the region semi-finals on Sunday.
