Kishwaukee’s finishes the regular season with a road win over Truman College 87-81.

Kishwaukee went on the road for the third time this past week and came away with a hard fought road win against NJCAA Division I opponent Truman College (87-81).  The Kougars would open up an early lead against Falcons leading by double-digits halfway through the first half.  Truman would take advantage of some Kishwaukee's turnovers and finish the first half only down 3 points at (33-30).  The Kougar's would be lead in the first half by sophomore point guard Rudy Lopez(Dekalb HS) with 11 points and 3 assists along with freshman guard Landon Griffith(Rochelle HS) who contributed 10 points and 3 assists also.  The Kougar's would come out of half-time and take back control of the game through the second half until late when Truman would apply an aggressive full-court press.  Kishwaukee did a good job handling the pressure but when Truman was forced to foul Kishwaukee did not do a good job cashing in at the free throw line.  Kishwaukee would shoot its worst free throw percentage of the season (51.3%) on 20 of 39 attempts.  The Falcons would be able to get back into the game as they did in the first half only to run out of opportunities as the final horn sounded.  Four Kougar's finished in double-figures lead by Griffith & Lopez both recording 22 points.  Griffith would add 9 rebounds, 5 assists, 2 blocks, and 4 steals while Lopez would also have 2 rebounds, 6 assists, and 3 steals in the game.  Sophomore guard Dallas McClain(Decatur MacArthur HS) who score 15 points and dish out a team high 7 assists in the win followed freshman guard Caleb Gould(Rochelle HS) who recoreded a "double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds to go along with 5 assists.  Freshamn forward Keyshawn Stallworth(sycamore HS) would collect a team high 17 rebounds to go with his 7 points and 3 assists.  Freshman forward DeMonte Blalock(Dekalb HS) had 6 points & 3 rebounds along with sophomore guard Troy Johnson(Chicago Hope HS) who helped the Kougars with 4 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 steals, and 2 points in the win.

Even with the poor foul shooting Kishwaukee would shoot 48% from the floor & 39% from the 3-point line.  Kishwaukee will begin the postseason in the Region IV Tournament quarter-finals on Thursday March 1st at Morton College with a game time of 7pm.
