Kishwaukee finishes the week (2-0) with a 79-73 victory over Oakton College.

The Kougars enjoyed some "home" cooking with their 2nd straight home win this past week with a 79-73 win over the visiting Oakton Owls.  The game was slow and ugly with poor shots and defensive lapses for both teams.  Kishwaukee would create a lead at (38-26) late in the half and take a 10-point advantage to the locker room at half.  The Owls would slowly chip away at Kishwaukee's lead with strong dribble penetration leading to finishes at the basket as well as some open 3pt shots to tie the game and even take a few small leads halfway through the 2nd half.  The Kougars would begin to step up and take advantage of some Oakton missed shots and turn them into some transition baskets and timely perimeter shots.  Kishwaukee would lead by 6 points with 3 minutes to play and ice the game away while making all 5 free throw attempts in the second half.  This was the 7th season in a row the Kougars have defeated the Owls in their annual Region IV match-up.  Kishwaukee would be led by sophomore point guard Rudy Lopez(Dekalb HS) with 22 points, 2 rebounds, 6 assists, while committing zero turnovers for the 1st time this season.  Also finishing with double figures for the Kougars was freshman forward Darvon Sisson(Dekalb HS) with 12 points, 17 rebounds, and 2 blocks while making his first start of the season.  The third Kougar to reach double figures scoring would be fellow freshman forward DeMonte Blalock(Dekalb HS) with 10 points and  3 rebounds.  Sophomore guard Dallas McClain(Decatur MacArthur HS) & freshman guard Caleb Gould(Rochelle HS) would both knock down (2) 3pt shots each while freshman forawrd Keyshawn Stallworth(Sycamore HS) would grab 10 rebounds to go along with 4 points, and 2 blocks in the win.   Kishwaukee will continue its home stand with a match-up next Tuesday night with Harper College with a 7:30pm start.
